The barns of rural Tennessee, by the mid-1990’s, in many areas were aging, light and air and rain passing through the missing slats. Some seemed so fragile a strong wind could take them down. Others, sturdier, on working farms would last longer. But all around me, a way of living and working the land was disappearing. I set out to draw and paint the barns. In 1997, St. Andrews Sewanee gave me show of those paintings.
PAINTINGS
PEN AND INK DRAWINGS
Along with the paintings, I did a series of pen and ink drawings which I then printed as notecards. I sold most of the original drawings. Notecards, however, can be made of any of images on this website. Contact me at shepaintspoetry@gmail.com
